The cannabis space race is a big one. We’ve seen a number of private equity firms enter the space with plans to invest in a range of a “cannabis-dedicated” companies, from cultivators and distributors to testing labs and retail outlets. Perhaps the most prominent of these is Tilray, a Canadian firm that raised over �100 million in �8.8 million in a series of funding rounds in 2016 and 2017. A number of other firms have also recently reported large financing rounds of their own, including Cronos Group, GW Pharmaceuticals, Choom Holdings, and others..
